Eligibility requirement: At least one year of undergraduate study completed with an academic background in Electronic/Software Engineering and/or computer sciences, as well as a strong interest in the subject matter. An understanding of subjects such as electronic engineering, software programming, information and communications technology, and entrepreneurship is desired.

Remote Internship on Internet of Things

This is a remote internship program that can be completed from the comfort of your home.

Interns will have the opportunity to invest in a career in IoT development. This internship will give real-world experience in developing software and solutions for smart devices. This is a rapidly emerging field of expertise that is needed globally for almost all parts of our daily life. After an initial literature review the intern will focus on developing interfaces with the IoT electronics, data acquisition and analysis, developing software visualization tools. The work will contribute to the ongoing projects that will be used for agriculture, environmental pollution and energy monitoring.

Internship Details

IoT

Internships start on Mondays and interns have a choice to participate to a program between a minimum of 100 hours (3-5 weeks) or up to a maximum of 350 hours (13-17 weeks) .

The remote internship schedule is flexible and it will be agreed between the intern and the supervisor. The schedule will need to accommodate online meetings with the supervisor during their office hours which may be across several timezones. There will be regular communication between the intern and the supervisor through emails and web-calls.

Internship Host: The International Hellenic University (IHU) has its headquarters in Thessaloniki, Athens. It is organized and operates as a university, consisting of the merger by acquisition of three former Technological Educational Institutes by the IHU and its transformation. The main campus is located at two nodes in the city of Thessaloniki and has facilities, educational and administrative, in eight cities. It is the only public university in the country, where Study Programs are also offered in English. There are 7 Schools with 34 Departments in subjects and fields that meet the requirements of a modern university. IHU includes a University Center for International Programs of Studies. It has more than 40 institutionalized laboratories and offers more than 50 postgraduate study programs, some of which are cross-curricular or interdisciplinary, 22 of which are offered in English. There is also much collaboration with universities and research centers in Greece and abroad while memoranda of cooperation have been signed with academic and social bodies, strengthening its position both in Greece and Europe. The research activity of the university is important and present to all stakeholders, with particular emphasis on national and EU frameworks. Both active and past research actions include a number of NSRF projects and INTERREG transnational partnerships as well as EU frameworks such as HORIZON 2020 and Marie Skłodowska-Curie actions. The Institute is also very active on educational European financial frameworks like Erasmus Plus KA2 actions.
